reason why we broke up

hiiii guys, been two days since we broken up and i just wanted to hear you guys opinion on the break up.

We met on Hinge. He’s 23, and I’m 19. We took two days of no contact to reflect on our relationship, and then we met up on Wednesday to talk about it.

We had some questions to reflect on, such as “What do we miss about the relationship?”, “What has changed?”, and “When did we fall in love with each other?”

His reflection was mainly about how, at the start of the year, he was supposed to focus on himself because he felt like he had been jumping from relationship to relationship without prioritising himself, but he met me.

Apparently, his ex had asked him to remove his female friends, so after that relationship, he went on Hinge to find new female friends. When I asked him why, he said he wanted to hear women’s perspectives and opinions on life too.

He said that he doesn't want to continue hurting me and as he transitioned from school to work, we went from meeting twice a week to once a week, when we were both free but without having a dedicated day. Our calls went from five days a week to twice a week. He also went from not drinking to drinking twice a week and clubbing once a week.

He said his thoughts were jumbled, he had lost himself, and he wanted to break up becos he wants to find himself and experience things for himself, such as music festivals and a school exchange. He also said he can’t do long-distance relationships, he wants to experience everything without having to ask for permission, and he doesn’t have the capacity to constantly update me.

He said that he was the problem, not me.
