HELP - missed my lse offer by 3 ums

🎓 UNI / UCAS

possibly the worst day of my life so far - i had an AAA offer for bsc management and got 2 A*s, an A and a very high B in maths. my B was 3 UMS off an A, causing me to miss my offer

i’ve sent my 3 exam scripts to my teachers to see if it’s worth getting priority remarks but i’m pretty devastated, the chances are likely slim since maths is so objective

i got into my insurance, bath bsc economics, but i’m really not keen on going since i had my heart set on warwick or lse. (also i’d rather do management than economics, i’m aiming for a good career in consulting)

i was thinking of risking it all and taking a gap year to resit and do some internships to buff up my new application but after talking to an lse undergrad admissions staff member, my hopes are pretty much gone. it seems i would be disadvantaged massively purely because i took a gap year to resit rather than achieving my grades the first time around. he basically indirectly told me to go to my insurance

has anyone had any experience with resitting and reapplying to the same lse/warwick/kcl course as the previous year?

i reckon i could maybe get offers from warwick & kcl again..?

my family are all against me taking a gap year and i know the uni of bath certainly isn’t bad, but it’s obviously nowhere near as good as what i was hoping for (and all my other offers). plus there’s barely any accom left and it’s pretty expensive 😔

another (potentially very expensive and time-wasting) option i’ve been thinking about is going to bath, resitting maths alongside first year, and reapplying to the courses i’d apply to if i took a gap year anyway. the issues this may pose would be how unis may view this, and the limited amount of time i could spend on improving my application to show real growth during my year out

does anyone have any advice whatsoever? i’m pretty lost and upset
