Counterweight help

Just got my technics sl-1300 and the counterweight was too heavy and the tonearm kept floating so I fixed it by taping a quarter to the top of the headshell. Are there any other solutions that are more aesthetically pleasing and sturdy that a quarter and scotch tape?
