Current HoF RBs?
Do you think any current RBs with get into the Hall of Fame?
It is tough to compare running back stats today to previous decades where workhorse backs were the norm. But I was surprised looking on pro football reference how few RBs had high HoF monitor scores. This all started when I was curious if Marshawn Lynch would make the HoF.
The average HoF RB score is 106 but the median is around 97. Adrian Peterson has a score of 125.7 and Frank Gore is at 101, I think both get in. But then it really drops off. Lesean McCoy is at 82.4 and Marshawn Lynch is 69.1. It got me thinking, once this generation of current players retire there may be a long gap of RBs making the HoF. If Derrick Henry retired today he would only have a higher HoF monitor score for RBs in the HoF than Larry Csonka and Floyd Little. And we all talk about Derrick Henry's longevity as an anomaly.
The highest active players are:
67.6 - Derrick Henry
54.2 - Christian McCaffrey
44.3 - Alvin Kamara
