Boyfriend let girl touch him in the club

So I went clubbing with my boyfriend and some random girl comes up to him and asks him which marvel movie is the best x or y (I forget which movie) he answers the question then she puts her hand on his shoulder while looking right at me (or at least it seemed that way). She then pushes him away saying " you suck bad choice". My boyfriend just laughs. I look at him and he says " what?oh that? And he's like ye she was probably trying to get with me which is rude Because I'm here with you." afterwards I'm chilling in the club and I think about it for like 5 minutes approx. and I'm like no I'm not putting up with that shit. So I go over to her and my boyfriend follows me. Before I say anything my boyfriend points out that look she just asked another man that same question about the movie.which she does then runs to her friends and says " see this guy agrees with me!" But the major difference is she didn't touch him. So I say hello and she looks at me, then my boyfriend, then turns her head to him & asks him the same movie question AGAIN. Which leaves me shocked and confused (I dunno if she forgot him or what but at this point I see more clearly that she's drunk) so i walk closer to her face and say helllllooooo. Which catches her attention. I then say I'm cool with you asking the question but you don't need to touch him, you touched him earlier and I'm not okay with that. she then turns to him and apologizes then asks me the stupid movie question and I answer and walk off. My boyfriend then says was all that necessary? I said I don't mind the question I just think touching you was inappropriate,But you certainly didn't seem to mind. he's like well I didn't know what to do. When I got home I spoke to my friend about the situation and she scolded Me saying never defend a man that feels comfortable letting other women disrespect you. She said it was his job to check that woman for touching him regardless of her intentions behind it, he was with you after all. Is she right? Should I have demanded he set boundaries and remove himself from her advances, instead of being the proactive one to do it?
