Transfer of fund from Non registered account to spousal TFSA for tax saving

Taxes / CRA Issues

I am in a higher tax slab, my spouse is in a lower tax slab.

I have money in my non registered account which I use to invest in stocks. But I have to pay capital gain/loss on that money.

My spouse has an empty TFSA. Can I sell my position in a non registered account and then move money to our joint non registered account from where my spouse can contribute that money to her TFSA?

I think it will help us to reduce the capital gain I pay in the long term. And we may be able to grow it inside her TFSA.

Does it trigger any tax implication? Anything we should be aware about? Can anyone please share their experiences? I appreciate your help.
