Hey everyone!

Whether you are just starting your research or are currently recovering from your transplant, you probably have a lot of questions about daily care. To make things easier, we’ve compiled the exact post-op guidelines we provide to our patients.

🩹 **The First Few Days: Bandages & Swelling**

Q: When can I remove my bandage after the hair transplant?

A: Your bandage is typically removed on the second day after the operation, right before your first head wash. Once it is removed, you will not need to use a bandage again.

Q: What should I do if swelling occurs?

A: Swelling (especially around the forehead and eyes) is completely normal, so don’t worry! You can apply an ice pack for 10 minutes every two hours (make sure to apply it to your forehead/face, not on the implanted grafts) and gently massage your head. The swelling will naturally disappear in a few days.

🧴 **Washing & Scalp Care**

Q: Should I wash my head every day after the surgery?

A: Yes. After the transplant, you need to wash your head every single day for the first 1 month to keep the area clean and ensure healthy healing.

Q: How long should I use the Panthenol spray?

A: You should use the Panthenol spray for about 15 days post-op. The goal is to keep using it until all the scabs (crusts) are completely removed from the skin.

Q: Can I use the Panthenol spray on my donor area as well?

A: Yes, you can use it on the donor area to soothe the skin. However, keep in mind that applying it to both the recipient and donor areas will cause the spray to run out very quickly!

🧢 **Lifestyle, Hats, and Activities**

Q: How long should I wear a hat?

A: We recommend that you use the specific hat provided by the clinic for 10 days after your hair transplantation whenever you need to go outside or protect your head.

Q: When can I do sports after the surgery?

A: You need to wait at least 1 full month after the operation before starting any exercise. Elevated blood pressure and heavy sweating during the early healing phase can harm the new grafts.

Q: When can I have sexual intercourse after a hair transplant?

A: There are no strict restrictions on sexual intercourse after the operation. However, it is highly recommended that you do not exert too much physical effort, especially in the early days, to keep your blood pressure stable and protect the grafts.
