How do you use passive insight/investigation?

First time DM here, and I just realized that in addition to passive perception, passive investigation and insight also exist. It feels kind of unrewarding to just hand out successful investigation/insight checks to players because they have innately high values, but also I understand it rewards them for those skills.
How have you been using those 2 stats in your games?
