Question about the Survivor’s Benefit Plan (SBP)

If my spouse served in the military until 2005, which was prior to our marriage, and his service was re-characterized in 2015 to medical retirement and he added me to his SBP, and I divorce him, can he remove me from his SBP if I want to remain as the SBP beneficiary?
