Haul Suggestions
My birthday is in 2 days and I’ve been saving up and asking people for Wonder Pens gift cards so I can go in on my b-day and do a giant haul. I’m kind of just wondering what pens/stationary people suggest.
I’m terms of pens, my current collection consists of my first pen, a M lamy safari, and a F jinhao 82. I use bottled ink.
I don’t use the safari much anymore since i dropped it and bent the nib slightly. Even though I got it unbent I just feel weird picking it up and I don’t trust the cap. So I am preferential to screw on caps. This also means my Jinhao 82 is currently my daily driver.
I’m a wannabe novelist and I doodle and fill a lot of notebooks. In september my writing output will go up substantially because of being a uni freshman. So I need a pen that I can write all day with and carry around (doesn’t mean it necessarily has to be a dirt cheap pen, I also want something that feels like a tool/investment)
I was thinking about some of the favs like the TWSBI Eco or the Kaweco Sport. I’m thinking that if I want to buy a pen I want to get one that is nice, like I want to go all out in a way. I was thinking about the Kaweco brass as well but the only drawback is I can’t eye dropper convert it and the 0.4 ml converter might be too small for me with being out all day at uni. I don’t have any ideas about pens higher in price range just because I want testimonies and stuff so please recommend pens. I think I’ll probably go upwards of C$200, possible C$300-350 if I’m really convinced.
For ink I know I’m just going to pick up a crap ton of diamine inks. I’m currently using the Pilot iroshizuku shin kai that i got in 50 ml lol.
And in terms of paper I think I’m going to try looking at some TNs….
If anyone has any recommendations from what I’ve said or even any other accessories you think are useful, I’m super grateful 🙏
