Do you like Dismounted Feudal Knights?

Playing on vanilla. With England and France at least, in castles there are often not only Dismounted Feudal Knights available, but often also some alternate heavy infantry units that focus on damage rather than on defense.

Except that if these stats are true to how they actually play, this is not what I want in heavy infantry. I want them to be the anvil instead of the hammer. A tank in other words.

Has anyone else played a lot with damage-heavy heavy infantry and are they as relatively vulnerable as they appear in their stat lines compared to Dismounted Feudal Knights? I only rarely buy them since DFK haven't let me down so far. I might test the alternatives out some more if they are have more survivability than they appear.
