Update: I’m pivoting from selling a tool to offering the processing as a service (still a free pilot).
I’ve posted a couple of times about the BOL/POD automation I’ve been building, and wanted to share an honest update based on the feedback here and some more thinking on my end.
I’ve decided not to try to sell brokers another tool for their ops team to manage. A few things pushed me in that direction, especially what people pointed out in the comments: accuracy expectations, all the different formats shippers use, and the fact that most ops teams probably don’t want another piece of software to configure, maintain, and babysit.
So instead, I’m keeping it simple:
You send me the docs. I process them on my end. You get back clean, structured data in Excel or JSON.
No software for your team to learn. No setup or configuration. No black box you have to trust. Just the output.
I’m still doing this as a free pilot because I want to prove it’s actually useful before asking anyone to pay.
Here’s how it works:
- Send me 10–20 real BOLs/PODs (any format, scans are fine)
- I’ll return the structured data within 24 hours
- You compare it with what your team would have entered manually
- If it saves meaningful time, we can talk about a simple per-document or monthly rate
- If it doesn’t, no hard feelings and no cost
I’ll also flag low-confidence fields rather than pretending the system is 100% accurate. The goal is for your team to review the exceptions, not re-do the entire batch.
I’m still looking for the first broker or small 3PL willing to give it a shot.
If that sounds useful, comment or DM me.
