I didn’t know I needed this kind of queer representation
I**’**m so happy I found this show
I’m 20, and I honestly don’t think I’ve ever connected with a piece of media this deeply before.
I think part of the reason I relate to these characters so much is because some of their experiences feel really familiar to me. There are things they go through and emotions they express that I recognize in myself, and seeing that reflected back at me through queer characters feels strangely comforting.
I also just love how much love there is between the characters. And I don’t mean only romantic love. The friendships, the way they care about each other, the way they understand each other it all feels so genuine. There’s something really beautiful about watching queer people have these kinds of relationships without the story constantly treating their queerness as something that needs to be explained.
And honestly, the fact that basically everyone in this show is queer still kind of blows my mind. I’m so used to watching media where queer characters are a small part of the cast, or where their relationships are treated as something separate from the main story. Here, it just feels normal. They get to be complicated people who love, fight, laugh, hurt, and care about each other. Their queerness is there, but it isn’t the only thing that defines them.
I feel everything while watching this. I’m happy when they’re happy, I get genuinely sad when they’re hurting, and yes, I’m also extremely attracted to some of them . But underneath all of that, I think what’s affecting me the most is seeing something that feels so close to an experience I’ve had or at least an experience I wish I could have had more freely.
I’m actually getting emotional writing this because I didn’t expect a show to mean this much to me. I just feel really lucky that I found it.
