I'm in the DMV area and tried Method Room last night, so I thought I'd review and compare it to solidcore for those here!!

I know there have been other posts saying that they tried other workouts near them similar to solidcore and they were much easier than SC, not the case here!! I have almost 200 classes at solidcore, and got a great workout here.

Starting with the machine -- OMG, this thing was HEAVEN! Literally, the SC reformer is so cheap compared to this. It was SO comfortable getting on. Everything is padded, from handlebars, to the carriage itself is way more comfortable. There are also many different grooves that make a LOT of moves way more accessible. I'll attach pictures. They do also use a pilates ball and ring sometimes, still have a bungee though I didn't use that in this workouts. Did get to use the foot straps!!

The stability poles were even better!! The bottom has a flat base so they can stand on their own, and are much sturdier. The handlebars are CRAZY PADDED, SO COMFY, and you just lift and lock into place to change them.

Compared to solidcore, it was so many similar moves. We did low plank extension, carriage lunge, oblique crunch (nope, didn't escape obliques, lol), and deadbug. There were some new moves for me to try including the pilates ball and the foot straps. I LOVED the foot straps!!! Solidcore is missing out. They're so effective and make for a killer workout. Also you can make obliques harder by putting the pilates ball in between your legs. I was not able to do this yet, lol, one day!!

The workout was more full body than solidcore. Instead of spending 10 min on core, 10 on obliques (or even more) and rest on the rest of the body, it was equal in all parts. I liked that, but could be a negative for some of you! The main focus was strength training like solid core, but some moves felt more pilates esque which I liked. I should note they are not lagree certified. They have their own method, like solidcore.

The studio was beautiful and with less machines it felt a lot more intimate and the coach was able to connect with us on a deeper level. They also have regular events for members, so the studio is much more of a community than SC.

Overall, I loved it and am definitely switching. It just seems superior in every way. Every studio is different. You might not find one you like better nearby, but worth trying!
