Can a body be incompatible?

I passed on my Galaxy Watch (1) to my husband when I upgraded to a Watch 7. I had bought it secondhand in 2023 before I took up running. Within the first week of him wearing it, the face unglued. Unfortunately, it also messed with the screen and was unfixable.

I then bought him a Watch 2 off Vinted. Within a week, same thing happened only this time we repaired it with the glue suggested on this forum. It lasted 3 days. We cleaned it up and reglued it. It came off again, and this time the screen no longer turns on.

So I've bought him a Watch 3 on Vinted. This one, I noticed has a ring around the screen. I'm hoping this one doesn't fall off but we're wondering if a body can just not be compatible?

Previously, he had a fitbit (original), followed by a fitbit charge and a charge HR.
