Cannot figure out 'yos' stitch in Revers Shakers rib - Confetti Cardigan by Nashknits
Hi there! I am a fairly experienced knitter but cannot figure out this stitch. Google is no help, it keeps redirecting me to a regular yo, and to other versions of shakers rib/fishermans rib.
I am making the swatch for the Confetti Cardigan by Nashknits. The gauge swatch should be done in "Reverse Shakers Rib", which is explained as follows:
Row 1 (RS): k1, *yos, k1* repeat from * to * till end, turn.
Row 2 (WS): p1, *Brk, p1* repeat from * to * till end, turn
Yos: yarn at front, slip next stitch purl wise, place working yarn over the top of the RHN (when counting; both slipped st and its yo are considered as 1 st)
Brk: knit the slipped st from previous row together with its paired yarn over
However, when I do the yos stitch I just end up with a regular slswyif? In other words, I am not creating a yarn over. Now I put yarn in front, slip purlwise, and then place the yarn over the right needle back to the back. But because the next stitch is a k1, there is no yo created that way. Is there anyone who could explain this to me in another way than the pattern does?
Thanks so much!
