You need to find me before it's too late
Ill do my best to time stamp this as close to accurately as possible, i dont have much time. Maybe you'll be able to solve this with the help of this mediocre timeline. Oh right, i should tell you what i look like too. Im not a tall guy, 5'8 or 5'9, a big black bushy beard, black ballcap, rectangular glasses, blue shirt, black cargo pants, worn boots. Overweight and not by a little bit, but I look capable of putting up a pretty good fight, in spite of my kind tone of voice and the way my eyes crinkle with a smile. Maybe that will help you find me.
Around 6:30, i pulled into the truckstop, it was piping hot down here in missouri, but the engine on my truck kept shutting off.
6:41, per my phones call log, my boss got back to me about it and we exchanged some heated words, i get told to check into a hotel for the night to sleep through the 105 degree heat.
Around 7, i check in to the hotel across the street from the truckstop, a blessedly short walk. While shuffling my backpack and sundry bag awkwardly I wait for the receptionist to finish a call. Apparently the website was overbooking the hotel, per her brief apology. I nodded understandingly and she asked for my confirmation number. I pulled out my phone but it demanded my pin. With my hands full I muttered at it as I sat it on the counter and held my watch to it to smart unlock it rather than setting things down in the lobby. I got checked in okay and headed to my room, lucky me because any other hotels would be an uber ride away.
7:08 I get to the room. Its surprisingly nice, tv along the left wall just past the closet door, window straight on from the entrance. The toilet and shower cubicle are behind a pocket door sharing the wall with the entrance but down a short hall of a few feet. The sink and large mirror sit on the right hand wall, between the bathroom door and first of the two beds. Not waiting for the door to close I strode inside and tossed my bags at the bed, turning down the short hall I was in the restroom before I heard it click.
7:14, the receptionist calls while im in the restroom. By time im washing my hands she knocks at my door. Apparently even though I got my room I was part of the double booking problem, and her system was showing my room as empty. Only because she remembered checking me in moments ago did she avoid sending another person up to my room, and she wanted my name so she could write it in manually on the room. I bid her good night and flopped on the bed to doomscroll before heading to sleep.
8:28, I decided to check out the tv, flipping through the guide for several pages. I settle on the jetsons, but its ending already. Next up, scooby doo. Perhaps for nostalgia, perhaps just for white noise, but I start singing along to the intro, and, after a short debate wars on my face I grab my soap and shampoo from my belongings, headed for the small shower cubicle in my room.
I had to hunt for the towels for a moment, not below the sink, or in the cupboard. I found them hanging over a rack above the toilet. My phone beeped but when i went to look for it i got frustrated at the mess of disturbed bedding and headed back to the shower, tossing aside my clothes and taking off my glasses and watch.
8:57 I blink the soap out of my eyes and look out the shower door toward the tv, noticing that the tv definitely wasn't showing scooby doo any longer. I squinted at the screen in the reflection, trying to place the home remodeling show that most definitely did not air on boomerang channel, but I had only the bathroom light and tv to see by. After several seconds of squinting at the mirror my eyes finally locked with the man typing all of this on my phone and i jerked like a startled deer, starting to bluster and demand to know who was in my room.
The man finishes typing this sentence and heads toward the bathroom with his favorite knife.
9:25 Thats all you get. Good hunting reddit, you have until the next post to find "my" body. If you dont get it by then the next puzzle we will have to... spread the clues out to give you a better chance. :)
