Today I've got in my hands Titus with laurels from the August 2026 batch and... turns out this is the 3rd version of poor Secret Level Titus.

And what could I say... I thought it would be completely the same as the previous, if I'm not mistaken, April 2026 release (which itself is already different compared to the original 2025 one), buuuuut...

To be honest, I'm a little bit upset.

The color is different again (thanks for not changing the box like last time). Not as dramatically as Apr 2026 vs 2025, but the colors look a little duller. The previous one has a brighter, more vibrant, slightly more violet-ish shade, if you could put it that way. My assumption is that they used a different varnish or something (may be wrong tho).

The color difference itself is not a big deal. You may not notice it on the shelf, but what bothers me more are a couple of actual paint downgrades.

Looks like JoyToy skimped on the gunmetal paint and glossy varnish this time. The whole inner collar is just grey. The tubes on the helmet are just black. And the worst part is the stripes on the helmet.

Not only are the stripes painted unevenly, but the colors also look washed out. On previous releases, they look rich and have a glossy finish, whereas now they look rather dull and just don't pop. The color and painting method actually reminds me of the original SM2 and CE Titus, but somehow it doesn't look cheap on those figures.

A couple more minor differences: the color of the loincloth is slightly different, and-on the plus side-Titus' face looks healthier (or paler, depending on your preference).

Don't get me wrong, the figure itself feels solid. No complaints there. But since I'm really into Mark X helmets and love this sculpt, the downgrade in paintwork is what bothers me the most. Of course, you can swap the upper part of the helmet with the stripes and laurels if you have one... but you have to find one somewhere first.

It’s up to you whether to buy it or not, but personally, I think the previous revisions had better paintwork.

I’m aware that some of JoyToy’s recent releases have had inferior paintwork, and damn... I really love this figure, but this trend of downgrading figures that have already been released is disappointing.

This isn't me saying the figure is bad. I've actually been thinking about buying the rest of the Secret Level figures, but given the chaotic situation with all the different batches, re-releases, and color variations, I think I'm going to hold out hope for a Collector’s Edition (assuming there is one).
Hopefully, everything will be consistent in that version.

So… apparently there are 3 versions of Secret Level Titus now
