This game is frying my computer 😅

Hello everyone,

I’ve been playing The Sims 3 for quite some time in my life. Around three or four years ago, I got a new laptop. While you would assume that this would make the game run better since it is a better machine, somehow the opposite is what happened.

At first I couldn’t run the game at all since it would overheat the computer so much that it would get completely blocked until it turned itself off. Then I found and followed the famed performance guide. After following through with it, the issue has been reduced to a certain extent (albeit with graphics settings that make TS2 look better than 3 lol), but the fans still scream and the computer is still so hot that I promise I’m not exaggerating when I tell you I felt pain in my fingers when I touched a few seconds the keyboard to give names to the family I was creating.

While I am aware that laptops are always worse in this matter than PCs, my previous computer was a laptop too, with worse specs, and I didn’t face this problem in the way that I’m doing it now, and I had more mods and custom content than now.

I was wondering if there is anything else that can be done about this, since I’d like to start playing this game again like I used to, but I don’t think it is safe to expose my computer to that strain on a regular basis.

Thanks in advance 🙂
