Struggling
Hi all. First time in this group.
I am struggling lately. And when I say struggling, I feel like I am drowning. I just recently started back into healthcare (medical assisting), and made the decision that I am going to apply to nursing school for this spring. For weeks now I have slowly felt like I was beginning to smother, but now with balancing classes, work, applying to the program, financial issues, and unsupportive borderline narcissistic parents, my mental has started to crumble. I feel unworthy, useless, and like I’m making all the wrong choices. As if I’m too stupid for nursing school and I won’t make it through. Scared of wasting all that time. Scared of disappointing my husband. (Even though deep down I know it would not disappoint him) He has been my rock most of the time, but I try to limit what all I lay on him as he has his own battles right now. I can’t help but to lay in bed at night and think of how I was treated as a child, as a teenager, and now as an adult by family members. It’s like all these feelings have poured in over the past couple of weeks. I’m getting snappy with the people I work with because I truly don’t want to have small talk, I’m over it. Much less do I want to listen to the problems of my patients all day, but that’s my job.
I do not pray as much as I should, I will admit this. It’s almost as if I feel unworthy to pray? Like my shame and sadness is overcoming my need to talk to God. I don’t truly know what kind of replies I’m asking for, but feel free to give advice, drop some verses, knowledge, and scripture.
