Joe Burrow is already one of the biggest public bets on the board to win NFL MVP.

Burrow is currently +900 at BetMGM, after opening at +1000, and 13.2% of all MVP tickets are on the Bengals quarterback, the highest ticket percentage of any player in the market.

But if you're looking for a reason to believe Burrow can put together an MVP-caliber season, you don't have to look much further than his performance on the road.

There's a particularly interesting ATS trend that will be active in half of Cincinnati's games this season.

According to TrendsCenter, Burrow has led the Bengals to a 30-13 ATS record on the road in his career, a 69.77% cover rate and +15.7 units of profit.

That's an elite number over a substantial sample size.

And the difference is noticeable when Burrow isn't under center. Without him, Cincinnati is just 4-6 ATS on the road.

# Burrow Has Been Excellent Away From Cincinnati

Burrow's career road numbers are also impressive.

In 40 career road games, Burrow has thrown for 10,088 yards and 83 touchdowns compared to just 24 interceptions, while posting a 98.9 passer rating.

His home numbers are slightly better in some efficiency categories, but his touchdown production has been higher on the road.

At home, Burrow has 74 touchdowns and 27 interceptions across 37 games.

On the road, he's produced 83 touchdowns and just 24 interceptions in 40 games.

That gives Burrow a 3.46-to-1 touchdown-to-interception ratio on the road, compared to 2.74-to-1 at home.

And while wins and losses are obviously dependent on the entire team, Cincinnati has gone 22-17-1 straight up with Burrow on the road.

You can see Cincinnati's road schedule for this season above, along with the current consensus lines. Tough matchups against the Texans and Steelers will take place before a much easier showdown against the Dolphins. Then the Ravens, Falcons and Commanders will welcome Burrow & Co. before the Browns and Panthers finish things up.

A testament to Burrow's health and the core around him, the Bengals are road favorites in six of the eight contests.

# The Bigger Picture

Burrow missed significant time last season, appearing in just eight games and finishing with 1,809 passing yards, 17 touchdowns and five interceptions.

The season before that, however, he showed exactly why he's considered one of the NFL's elite quarterbacks.

In 2024, Burrow completed 70.6% of his passes for 4,918 yards, 43 touchdowns and just nine interceptions.

For his career, he has completed 68.5% of his passes for 20,810 yards, 157 touchdowns and 51 interceptions, with a 101.1 passer rating.

Now he's entering another season with MVP expectations — and a schedule that gives him plenty of opportunities to put his road record to work.

Half of the Bengals' games will be played away from Cincinnati, meaning that 30-13 ATS road trend will have plenty of chances to remain one of the strongest Burrow trends in the TrendsCenter database.

The MVP market may be getting plenty of public attention, but there's another Burrow angle worth keeping an eye on all season:

When Joe Burrow hits the road, the Bengals have historically been a team worth backing.
