25 F | Chin Lipo + Renuvion Skin Tightening
3 Months post op:
Its been three months since my procedure and it has been really nice not dealing with my biggest insecurity anymore. After about a month and a half, I stopped wearing a head wrap, but I do find myself wanting to reach for it here and there. I still feel like I am a little swollen, but research says thats to be expected.
Now there were a few things I noted throughout the healing phase that raised an eyebrow:
-
i believe the renuvion left me with a dark line against the jawline (hyperpigmentation); it doesn't look terrible but it's not quite natural either; i don't love it but i dont hate it since it does just look like a contour line especially in dark settings. im curious to know or see if anyone else who tans easily or is darker skinned has had this issue and if it fades.
-
facial hair growth + tiny bumpies under my ears
I experienced an excess amount of hair growth in my overall chin area. I wasn't sure if it was bc of my PMOS flare-up or if it was due to the stimulation in the area bc of surgery; totally unsure
- Minimal fibrosis
I had some hardness during that first month, but after that it started feeling really soft again; at 3 months I don't feel any fibrosis, but i will say i still feel tightness in the neck area where i got tightening done, although its getting less tight as time passes.
- Twinges in the chin and neck
One thing I noticed when i was walking outside in the heat that first month was that i would get twinges of shock or sensations in my neck and it would feel weird. I avoided exerting energy when that would happen. it was very common those first 4 weeks; at 3 months i only feel it when its extremely hot and im sweating/high heart rate (especially outside) I assume it's nerve endings but still an odd thing to feel.
Overall, this experience has been great; recovery was easy, and despite being a little uncomfortable due to the headwraps, totally worth it. I'm looking forward to continued healing and will hopefully update as time goes on. The Renuvion does take 3-6months to fully heal, and I would appreciate some extra snatching, but for now it looks 100x better than it did and I'm happy.
