Baking cookies for Christmas

I was wondering if its a good idea to have a cooking contest for a family party on Christmas but the thing is everyone have to bake the cooking during the party, i thick it would be fun to see everyone progress of mixing and baking the cookies. Then later on once everyone is done we all get to taste each others cookies and vote who's the best. And the winner gets something idk yet. But is it alright to do so? I already thought to get the tools for making it but they have to bring there own supplies like the ingredients.
