Hybrid team

I started a job and inherited a team of 4 about 18 months ago. The team is hybrid but everyone lives locally. One about 1 hour away and the other 2 are 20 minutes away from the office. Most come in the office about 1x a week for half the day.

It has gone smoothly until recently where I'm often feeling that I can't find anyone. No one is responding. One employee is still struggling to figure out asana. Most things can happen when they happen, but I have one VP who always needs things now!

They aren't super busy, so I'd like to keep them more productive since we are in communications and there are always things we can be doing.

I'm embarassed to ask this question in 2026, but how are you keeping everyone communicating when working remotely? Without being the den mother?
