10 Questions Small-Business Owners Should Ask an AI Consultant
AI can help small businesses save time, automate repetitive work, improve customer service, and make better use of their data. But hiring an AI consultant isn't automatically a good investment. The right person should understand your business first instead of simply recommending a bunch of AI tools.
Before hiring an AI consultant, I'd ask questions like:
- What problems can you realistically help my business solve with AI?
- Have you worked with businesses similar to mine before?
- Which tasks would you automate first, and why?
- What AI tools or platforms would you recommend for my business?
- Do I actually need all these tools, or can I accomplish this with what I already use?
- How will you measure whether the AI investment is actually working?
- How will you handle customer data, privacy, and security?
- Will you train my team, or just set everything up and leave?
- What will this cost after the initial setup?
- What would you not recommend using AI for in my business?
That last question might be one of the most important. A good AI consultant shouldn't try to force AI into every part of your business. They should be able to tell you where AI makes sense, where it doesn't, and where a simpler solution would be better.
I'm also curious about experiences with AI expert platforms and services like v-oice AI Experts. For small-business owners who have worked with an AI consultant, what questions did you wish you'd asked before hiring them?
