Career Growth- Cybersecurity or Sales Engineering?

I am 27 years old and been in IT for about 5 years, And I've been doing the traditional path of upskilling/certifications and changing jobs every 1.5 years for pay increase, and now I'm ready for my next step. I'm deciding between cybersecurity and sales engineering.

Getting into Cybersecurity remains extremely difficult. I would have to spend the next two years going to school online for a cyber security degree, getting multiple certifications, building a home lab, and constantly staying up to date with current news and trends in the cyber world. While Cyber is very interesting to me, I am a bit turned off by this high barrier to entry. I also dislike the idea of being on-call. That being said I am willing to live with it if the pros outweigh the negatives (Good pay, fun & interesting work, stability)

The other option is Sales Engineering, and it is very tempting because it seems to combine technical knowledge with people skills. Easier to get into, higher pay, better work life balance. Is there a catch? Is there more to the job beyond doing the same demos every day?

I'd love to hear from anyone who might have input. Thanks :)
