I just released **Cairn v1.2.0**.

Cairn is my local-first “second brain for the web” browser extension — save pages, highlights, links, videos, notes, and organize everything into a personal library.

This update focuses heavily on making the new-tab experience feel more polished and useful.

# What’s new in v1.2.0

* **Liquid Glass theme** — a new Apple-inspired default look with translucent glass, subtle depth, and a cinematic background across the popup, new tab, and library.
* **To-do widget** — a simple checklist directly on your new tab. Everything stays local.
* **Pinned header + footer** — shortcuts and controls stay accessible while scrolling.
* **Better web search** — Cairn now respects your browser’s default search engine instead of forcing one.
* **Cleaner About panel** — now opens as a bottom sheet.
* **Better release notes** — “What’s New” takes you directly to the changelog for your current version.

Privacy is still one of the main priorities: your saved library and to-do items stay on your device, and Cairn never sees your web search queries.

I’d love feedback on the new Liquid Glass look and the new-tab dashboard in particular.
