New to Smite in general but familiar with LoL. How does ranked matchmaking work?

Im getting into ranked, want to play with friends who are much higher ranks. I know theres already a max disparity allowed in rank queuing.

My main question is whos SR does the matchmaking take into account? Does the queue put you in lobbies with the highest SR of your party, lowest SR, some combo?
