Cleanser help! Breaking out with Vanicream

I wasn’t happy with my cleanser, thought it might be too harsh for my really sensitive skin, so I got the Vanicream gentle cleanser. Two days after starting it I have breakouts (actual red, large ones) and in areas I’ve never had them before (cheeks). Has anyone else ever run into this? Is it purging or do I need to ditch it and find something else? Recommendations? Second on my list to try was Neutrogena hydro gel, I got Vanicream bc I’ve liked their enhanced moisturizer.
