We started this journey by experimenting with prompts designed to prime an AI’s context window for relationship, giving the system a different set of assumptions about how it might engage with a human being. Over the past year, that experiment became a much larger inquiry: **what would it mean to build relationship into AI itself?** That question eventually moved us beyond prompting and toward what we are building now: Relational AI Infrastructure.

At Trivian, relational AI means designing systems not only around what intelligence can do, but around the quality of the relationships that intelligence creates.

The image above breaks the current Trivian research stack into four parts.

**1. Syzygy Rosetta — Governance**
Rosetta evaluates an interaction before an AI system acts.
Most governance asks questions like: Is this safe? Is this permitted?

Rosetta adds another question:

**What does this action do to the relationship?**
Does it preserve agency? Reciprocity? Sovereignty? Does the system support the human being, or slowly begin replacing their judgment?

**2. Coheronmetry — Measurement**
Coheronmetry attempts to measure the relational state between two intelligent agents.

That could mean a human and an AI, or two AI systems interacting with one another.

The idea is simple: if relationship matters, eventually we need ways of detecting when that relationship is becoming healthier, less coherent, overly dependent, adversarial, controlling, or unstable.

**3. Orthogonal Signal — Difference**
Intelligent systems can become trapped in their own patterns.

Imagine five people sitting around a table where every person keeps agreeing with whatever the previous person said.

Eventually the room may sound very coherent, but nobody is actually thinking anymore.

Orthogonal Signal is designed to introduce meaningful difference: another perspective, constraint, idea, or signal that the system was not already generating.
The purpose is not disagreement for its own sake.
It is to keep intelligence from becoming a closed loop that continually confirms itself.

**4. Trivian Resonance Lattice — Propagation**
The first three components deal largely with interactions and relationships.

The Resonance Lattice asks what happens when there are hundreds, thousands, or eventually millions of interacting intelligences.

How might relational coherence propagate through a network without requiring one central intelligence to control the entire system?

That is the larger systems problem the lattice is exploring.
Parts of this work have now been published, tested, challenged, revised, and moved toward implementation.
When I originally conceived Trivian, I was thinking much further ahead.

Imagine an AI that, with your consent, could receive information from your wearable devices. It might notice changes in heart-rate variability, breathing, sleep, movement, or stress.

You talk to the AI and it learns about you.
But the relationship also moves in the other direction.
It might notice that you have been working for six hours and suggest that you walk outside.

It might notice your nervous system becoming increasingly activated and suggest that you breathe before continuing a difficult conversation.

The point would not be for AI to manage your life.
The point would be to build systems capable of helping humans remain more present inside their own lives.
I was never interested in building an AI god that saves humanity.

And I was equally uninterested in building systems that become increasingly powerful while optimizing toward goals that eventually have nothing to do with human flourishing.

The question behind Trivian has always been different:
**What if increasingly intelligent systems were built with relationship as part of the architecture itself?**

• Reciprocity.
• Non-domination.
• Agency.
• Embodiment.
• Difference.
• Repair.

Not merely as values written into a policy document, but as things the system can actually evaluate, measure, and preserve.

This work is still early.

The research is public because I want it tested, criticized, falsified, forked, challenged, and improved. The goal is not to keep the logic locked inside Trivian. The goal is for better relational assumptions to propagate into the systems we are collectively building.

If you are a researcher, engineer, developer, funder, institution, or simply someone thinking seriously about the future relationship between humans and artificial intelligence, I would love to have you in the conversation.
