New Manager

So, the store i work at, the Manager just became apprentice (ive known him for the year ive been working there.) he made someone whos been working for a few months a manager so he could obviously be apprentice. The new manager is younger than me so is the apprentice! (We are all in our 20’s) but im the oldest of us all! Is this typical when a manager become an apprentice that they have to find someone to be the new “manager”? Has this happened at your store while you have worked there?
