Need SAT Math help!
Hi,
My son took the June 2026 SAT for the 1st time and scored a 700 on the Math section. He had been scoring 800 in the practice tests on CB (after getting in the habit of double checking his answers and eliminating silly mistakes). So he barely did any additional practice questions on CB. He found the real test considerably harder in terms of difficulty of the questions overall, and especially a factoring question that threw him off/took time and he couldn't get double check the other answers, and probably made silly mistakes and ended up getting a 700 eventually. He is taking the Aug SAT in 9 days and we would like to get to a perfect score (he is a senior, so no more time), since he is pretty strong in Math generally but it looks like there are some trick questions out there on real tests that are not covered in the CB question bank. My question for the community is - is there a known trend of the real SATs being harder than the practice tests in general and/or having one or more tricky/harder questions that are not in the CB question bank or do you think it was more of a fluke in the June SAT? Thanks so much for your help and expertise!!
