Boosted Post Likes Disappeared

I boosted a instagram post straight from the instagram app, the post did well got good engagement and a couple sales. But once the add completed a huge chunk of Likes/ Comments disappeared. Is there any way to fix getting my likes back? Or is there another way to run ads on instagram that allows you to keep all your metrics without them taking it away?
