Goodfellas is not a good movie

Goodfellas is not a good movie at all. its entertaining to watch, fine.

but people speak of it as some highly complex and thoughtful artpiece when the only thing it said is "da mafia is bad!" which i can only surmise is a shocking revelation to slackjawed budweiser drinkers who grew up watching mob flicks thinkin "waow! da dudes with guns and cars is cool!"

also the woman who later learned how to act and played dr. melfi in sopranos was just awful. completely stilted line delivery, like a highschool play. the other high caliber actors of course deliver and carry the film on their back.

hating on godfather 3 (not that it doesnt deserve it) is and was all the rage but goodfellas is closer to it than the first 2.

modern movies arent any better but goodfellas feels like the boiled down essence of that eras americaslop movies.
