Older sister issues

This is really just a place for me to vent.

So my brother is going off to college soon, which is super great! He got a scholarship for sports at a D1 university. I am beyond proud of him.

Though, the process hasn’t been easy. It’s out of state so lots of paperwork and fees, FASFA ofc, and I have helped him with scholarship applications. Additionally, it’s just a huge expense, but ofc we are willing to make the sacrifice.

My issue is mainly with my brothers behavior. He’s missed several deadlines which has caused my mom to be very anxious and upset, which then I hear about since i’m the oldest. I have no issue being there to help, but my brother is being super irresponsible. Then for the past few weeks i’ve texted him maybe twice now like “move in is soon!!” kinda getting home excited… but his responses have shown that he isn’t excited.

As the first to go to college in my family, I understand all the emotions that come with going away. I understand the excitement mixed with the anxiety and all. I want to give him grace there. Yet, there is still a feeling when you’ve seen all that’s went into making something happen for someone and they just don’t really care. It’s hurtful. Idk.
