Fife Arms - Number of nights recommendation

Heading to Scotland in May for a total of 8 nights from Chicago. We want a pretty lowkey trip aka don’t want to spend half the trip in a car / on a train.

Planning on splitting time between Edinburgh and the Fife Arms. We were thinking of doing 4 nights at the Fife Arms. For folks who’ve been, is that too much time?
