Cross country move, 12k in bank.

I’m considering moving from Tennessee to Portland OR,
I’m currently 25years old, looking for a change of pace,( currently mid level account manager for a large company) company is going through major changes and is in the dump, work balance has gotten awful and no longer willing to tolerate it for any meaningful amount of time.
I would like to go back to school to facilitate a job change,
I have a place to stay in Portland indefinitely until I can find a job and a place to stay, ideally would like to find some kind of nothing retail job just to pay the bills while I go to school, the only thing that is giving me pause is the current job market.

I don’t have lots of items that I need to move just what would fit in my vehicle.

12k in the bank, no debt other than my vehicle payment and isn’t a substantial payment ~250.

I have been to Portland ~5 times, twice pre Covid 3 times post, so I am familiar with the area conditions etc.

Thinking about staying for 6 months and if I can’t get set up in that time I can come home with little to no repercussions besides having to find a job.

Thoughts ideas questions concerns?
