Is my eyeliner old or is it just like that now?

I used Stila stay all day for years because it was the only one that did what it was supposed to do. I admit, I no longer wear eyeliner every day and I know makeup expires, but I’m asking so I don’t buy another one for disappointment: did they change the formula? Because it didn’t even stay all night.

Wore it to an event in the desert (so much less humidity than it normally faces), and if anything my skin has gotten drier as I’ve gotten older, but after a fairly short period of time it was all smudged where my eyelid creases.

Has anyone else had this experience recently or is mine just old? If this is just the new thing, what are you using instead?
