What's with the constant "sponsor me" comments?
What the hell is with the constant "sponsor me" / "pay for me" comments whenever someone makes a post on this subreddit looking for people to hang out with? It's not always about money.
Sometimes someone just wants to meet a person, have a good time, grab some food, watch a movie, explore the city, or simply have some company. That's it. And it's not a party, it's not some big event, and nobody is asking you to come and provide free food or entertainment.
It's literally just two people hanging out. If you don't want to go unless the other person is paying for everything, that's your choice, but why make "sponsor me" the first thing you say?
Honestly, it comes across as entitled and completely misses the point of someone looking for genuine company. If someone wants to hang out with you, maybe don't immediately turn it into a transaction.
Not having money doesn't make anyone "low class." Expecting strangers to pay for you and treating every invitation as an opportunity to get a free meal, however, is a pretty shitty attitude.
If you don't want genuine company, just scroll past. Let people who actually want to meet and have fun find each other.
