5 year longevity and loan forgiveness

I’m entering my 6th year as a special ed teacher this September. When will my 5 year longevity pay increase hit my paychecks? Also, now is when I can finally apply to the teacher loan forgiveness, correct? Any tips or advice? I heard a coworker of mine say she got hers returned by her loan servicer several times until it finally got approved. Thank you.
