I feel stupid after tattoo
Theres a local band that plays often in my city and I absolutely love their music. I go to every show and I got to meet the band through some mutual friends and told them I was a huge fan. They played my favorite song and dedicated it to me and it was so cool. I always try and be supportive and share their music and posts on Instagram. They each seem to be genuine and kind people. They offered to play at my wedding and we are all friends on social.
I decided I really wanted a new tattoo and I love the art from the band so I messaged the singer and asked who did the art and if they minded if I got a tattoo of it.
He seemed totally thrilled and said it was great and they would love that I did that.
I got the okay so I got it tattooed.
I posted about it and tagged the band and was so excited to share it and every single band member saw my story and ignored it.
This is not about “likes” or popularity or anything I promise, I just wanted to connect and let them know how much I am supportive and grateful for their music.
They didn’t message or repost or anything.
Am I being too sensitive about this? It really hurt my feelings and now I’m feeling embarrassed that I got the tattoo even though it’s beautiful and really well done. I just thought they were my friends or at least acquaintance enough to be like “Hell yeah this is awesome!”
I am just feeling defeated that I keep trying to make friends and feel a part of something only to have it be received as weird and awkward. :(
