Seasickness

I’m an avid snorkeler looking to get into diving. The problem is I get seasick. I almost always pick walk in spots to snorkel if I can, or very calm locations. The slightest chop can get me seasick on the way to the reef. I’ve tried everything including prescription meds. Some days are ok, some are bad. I’ve spent hours sick in the water on a few trips out in the FL Keys, and other trips were great. I really want to get into diving but I’m nervous I will get sick while down on the bottom. Any advice from others that get seasick? Is it better when you’re down there, or will the current and sway still cause problems for me? I have signed up for an intro to diving course at a local dive shop, I’m just looking for some input on whether it’s worth the attempt.
