Heather McDonald says she “welcomes MAGA” on Bravo… and somehow thinks asking about politics is the annoying part?

Political Discussion

Heather McDonald said on her most recent podcast that she welcomes MAGA people on Bravo and questioned why viewers care about the political views of Housewives and their families. She basically argued that asking who they vote for is “annoying AF” and suggested that there’s some meaningful difference between a 20-year-old voting left and someone in their 30s or 40s who are established and successful voting right.

But isn’t that the entire point?

If you’re going to publicly platform and celebrate MAGA, why is it suddenly unreasonable for viewers to ask what these people actually believe and who they support politically?

And the whole “a 20-year-old voting left is different from a mature adult voting left” argument is especially bizarre. Is she seriously implying that being older automatically makes your political opinions more informed—or that adults who vote left are somehow less mature?

Also, if we’re apparently not supposed to care about political views, why specifically announce that you “welcome MAGA” on Bravo? 😂 And her co-host Jacques Peterson as a gay himself apparently had a history of homophobic and transphobic viewpoints.

I actually think viewers should be allowed to ask questions about the politics of people they watch and support. You don't have to agree with them, but pretending those questions are inherently “annoying” feels pretty disingenuous

What do you guys think—should Bravo viewers care about the political beliefs of Housewives, or should we just ignore it completely?
