Raleigh Alamo manager
Okay in a subreddit full of hatred towards what Alamo is becoming (fuck the QR codes ) I want to express some positivity at the Raleigh Alamo. I went with my daughter to see Katseye yesterday at 6:30. Towards the end of the show a girl leaned over and whispered to her mother she needed to use the restroom. Her mom said something back in a very quiet voice. I was two rows back and couldn’t hear. I never would have known they were talking if I hadn’t seen their heads move towards each other. As the mom was responding someone about three seats down shushed them and yelled almost full volume to stop talking. I know there’s a no talking policy but seeing as how it was not 5 minutes from the end of the movie and nobody could hear them I don’t see the big deal. Once the show was over one of the staff asked the woman and her daughter to meet the manager at the front. I walked past them after using the restroom myself and the manager seemed nothing but apologetic that that happened. She assured him it wasn’t anything Alamo or staff did but he still apologized and asked if there was anything they could do to make their experience better. I did chime in and assure the manager she wasn’t talking and the guy was just being an ass for no reason. I know the Alamo is going straight into the ground with the piss poor, money hungry decisions being made by corporate (their once abundant beer selection is know a quarter of what it was and I suspect corporate has something to do with that too but I don’t have any evidence) but hopefully some of the good workers and people there get the recognition and support they need. I’m sure the staff is getting the majority of the complaints. Thanks for coming to my TED talk.
