Hello, would someone please give me some feedback on this essay about wealth redistribution. Thank you
prompts:
- Some believe that the government is most effective at determining how public money is spent. Others believe it is the public themselves.
- The founding principle of modern government is to redistribute wealth.
- When the rich support the vulnerable, everyone prospers.
- Redistributing the wealth of the nation is a complicated process that prompts many important questions about how to do it in a fair and reasonable way.
essay:
Redistributing wealth should lead to people of all financial backgrounds to prosper but due to a lack of funds, a lack of financial education and aid and even a lack of willingness, it simply would not happen, and could perhaps lead to a financial crisis instead.
It is believed that the United Kingdom is in the top 10 countries where unequal income is prevalent. This margin between wealth continues to grow as the cycle where an individual is born into either a wealthy background or a less wealthy background is hard to break. For example if a person were to be born into poverty, it would be incredibly difficult for them to move out of poverty due to a lack or less education, having no access to resources, and only being able to apply for entry-level jobs. Wealthiness is becoming harder and harder to achieve as the bar keeps moving out of reach.
Redistributing wealth involves allocating funds from the government or the ultra-wealthy to the less wealthy. The problem with redistributing wealth is that the government has yet to find a way to do it ethically. Government funds are mostly spent on public services, health, education and defence, leaving little to less money to be distributed. If money were to be distributed from the government, government leaders would have to assess how their money is being spent and what it is spent on, to even be able to find money. This process would require a considerable amount of time, and if society were to wait for this, the margin would be greater, requiring an even greater amount of money. Whilst the government set the system up, it would simply take far too long to challenge and change it, and society is not a position where the less wealthy can afford to wait due to the rising costs of living and inflation.
The other option is to have the ultra-wealthy be the ones to redistribute their wealth. The wealthiest 10% make approximately 100 times the amount that the least wealthy make, and money given would not be missed. However the rich are entitled to their wealth and they cannot be forced only encouraged, unless a law were to come into place. Despite those who are willing to give, it may not be enough as the poorest 1% have negative wealth.
Looking past the hardships of even being able to redistribute wealth, the impact it could create is difficult to determine. Would the economy boom or crash?
Hi, thank you so much for reading this and if possible would you please give some feedback. This is the first essay I've actually been able to write, as I've been sticking to making plans as per advice. Many Thanks!
