hello! Very new to the sub Reddit but I’ve been in the aquarium hobby for a couple of months now I absolutely love it and I’m so glad to see communities and stuff like that which are so kind and receptive to each other. This is my semi planted beta fish tank for my beta fish pixel she is a beta and I’ve had her for roughly 2 months now and I’ve loved this tank throughout the tank‘s life. I feel like I’ve always kind of had problems when it came to algae growing and just having random spurts of algae over the past couple of weeks. I’ve been doing a lot more to combat the algae, including using less light throughout the day. I have my cycle down to about three hours throughout the day in order to combat the algae and I recently just did a complete blackout over three days and I noticed that definitely did help with the algae a lot. I also just introduced around 8 neo shrimp into this fish tank, which I also noticed my beta fish does not have a problem with. I’ve noticed multiple times my beta fish, even swimming right along side of the shrimp with no chasing or picking, which is a very good sign. I was thinking about introducing some amano shrimp in this tank to kind of help with some of the algae because I’ve heard such good things about amano shrimp and their algae eating purposes. But again still very very new to this hobby and would love some feedback on my tank and also any tips on how to get my red ludwigia to grow and thrive alittle better. Thanks guys!

Thoughts on my planted Betta tank and any feedback on helping with algae
