Is price jumping in the cart on AliExpress a temporary bug or the new normal?

Find products

I haven’t bought anything on AliExpress in a while, but I decided to browse today. In the past, browsing while logged out showed "new user" discounts that disappeared once you signed in. Knowing this, I made sure I was logged in before browsing so I'd see real prices.

Despite being logged in, every time I add an item to my cart, the price immediately jumps up by $1.50–$2.50. I’m in the U.S., so this isn't caused by European VAT or local tax adjustments.

It’s affecting every item I test. Is this just a temporary site hiccup, or is it a new "feature"?

I used to order constantly, but I scaled back as prices rose over the last year or two. If this hidden price bump at checkout is the new default behavior, it makes shopping there practically impossible. At that point, I’d rather just use Amazon instead of adding items to a cart dozens of times just to reveal the actual price.

Anyone else running into this today?
