Forza Horizon vs The Crew Moterfest

I know this might be a common question but I still decided to ask because I didn't find exactly what I was looking for.

I am thinking about buying a racing game, I have played the Forza Horizon series and I love it. But of course those games are expensive. I noticed that the Moterfest game gets a pretty sweet discount during steam sales and I was wondering if I should go for it.

Now I am not like one of those people who compare them like they are the same games but I really wanted to know How good the driving mechanics are in the game. I am not looking for something ultra realistic like BeamNG for something like NFS (which I personally hated a lot). I am also not expecting an exact experience like Forza Horizon. I just want to know if the driving mechanics are somewhat similar or something horrible/weird/different.
