Why is citrine so popular?

Hey everyone,

I've been collecting crystals and minerals for about a year now. Whenever I'm browsing I see quite a lot of posts about citrine.

What makes citrine so common and popular? It does not look any more interesting than other types of quartz, calcite, tigers eye etc, yet it gets posted about a lot more often.

What am I missing?
