Breeder hijacked my work lunch.

PERSONAL

Not the end of the world, but I'm so disappointed.

We regularly order out for lunch at my office when this one specific co-worker is working in the office because she doesn't mind walking around downtown and picking up all our orders like a magical food sherpa. Today we were talking about what to order for lunch, and someone suggested the thai noodle place we regularly order from--my favorite! I usually order my dinner too when we have food from this place and keep it in the fridge until 5 to take home. I seconded the suggestion, and a tentative plan was formed between a few people.

Next thing I know, obnoxious breeder coworker comes out of her office and asks where we're ordering from for lunch. My other coworker tells her the noodle place, and breeder immediately pitches a fit because her teenage son, who has been working in our office part time over the summer, isn't here today to try the food from the noodle bar, and we should order from the noodle bar tomorrow when he is here. I point out that I had my heart set on noodles today and that I won't be in the office tomorrow. Breeder tells me since I've already had the food from this restaurant, we should all order food from this other restaurant today that her son has already tried, then order noodles tomorrow when I'm not here so he can try them. I pushed back and said, I'm an adult working in this office TODAY, and I want Thai food like we originally planned, but the coworker who picks up the food for everyone is also a breeder and goes, oh no! Precious teenage boy who isn't here and doesn't give a fuck can't miss out on food from the Thai place! She decides to get food from the other restaurant, and since she's the one who volunteered to pick it up, everyone else just ordered food at the other restaurant.

I brought my lunch today anyway, so I'm just going to eat that, but goddamn it. Can't even have lunch at WORK without someone centering it around their child! These parents are so fucking myopic and entitled. End rant.
